Alcohol- You must be 21 years old to purchase or consume alcohol. Anyone found purchasing alcohol for a minor is subject to prosecution, while any minor found in possession of alcohol will be escorted from the stadium. All sales of alcohol will stop after the seventh inning.

 

Animals - The only animals allowed inside the Park are Cubbie and certified service dogs. 

 

Announcements - If you would like your birthday or anniversary announced you may call in before the game or go to the front desk to make your request. 

 

ATMs - An ATM is located by the information booth behind home plate next to the entrance to the Backstop Store.

 

Autographs - Players and coaches are able to sign autographs before the game.  Please be courteous and respectful to the players and coaches as well as guests possessing tickets in autograph areas. If you are seeking autographs in a seating section other than your own, you may be asked to proceed to your designated seating section. 

 

Batting Practice - Fans may come to the park an hour and a half before the game and catch the visitors taking batting practice.  Unfortunately, the Iowa Cubs usually take batting practice before the gates open.

 

Banners and Signs - Banners and signs are not allowed inside the stadium.

Cameras - Cameras are allowed inside the park.

 

Children - If your child is under three years-old they do not need a ticket as long as they sit in someone's lap.

 

Concessions - The Iowa Cubs concessions is run by Centerplate.  There are eight concessions windows located on the main concourse.  Feature items include hot beef sundaes and Stu's BBQ.

 

Cubbie Bear - Cubbie Bear is the Iowa Cubs mascot.  Click here to learn more about him.

 

Directions - Principal Park is located at the confluence of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers just south of downtown Des Moines. From eastbound Interstate 235, take the Martin Luther King Junior Parkway exit and continue south on Martin Luther King, Jr. for approximately one mile. Once you have passed under Grand Avenue and pass over the bridge, Martin Luther King, Jr. will jog left at the next stoplight. Follow it left to Third Street.  Make a right onto Third Street.  Principal Park will be on your left.  Look for the lights!

 

From westbound Interstate 235, take the Third Street exit.  Follow Third Street south and turn left on Line Drive, This will lead directly to Principal Park.

 

Employment Opportunities - The Iowa Cubs hire seasonal employees and interns.  Stop by the front desk for an application.

 

Exit and Re-entry - You may leave and re-enter the stadium as long as you have a ticket.

 

First Aid - First Aid is located in the main concourse behind home plate.

 

Foul Balls - Fans may keep any ball that lands in the stands, but if it is close please give the players a chance to catch it first. If a thrown bat finds its way into the stands, we do ask that it is returned to the nearest usher.

 

Gates Open- The gates open 90 minutes before each home game.

 

Group Outings - Groups of 25 or more are eligible to receive discounts on tickets.  Contact Kenny Houser for more information. 

 

Handicapped Seating- Handicapped seating is available throughout the stadium. Companion seats are also available. Contact a staff member for assistance. You can purchase handicapped seating in advance by calling our ticket office at 515.243.6111

 

High School Tournament - The high school tournament is scheduled for July 22-29. For more information, click here.

 

Knothole Gang - Be a part of the Iowa Cubs action and join the Knothole Gang.  Presented by United Way, this group is open to fans 13 and younger and is only $9.00.  Click here to join.

 

Laser Pointers - The use of laser pointers is strictly prohibited at Principal Park. 

 

Lost and Found - If you have lost something check at the information booth located on the main concourse behind home plate or at the front desk.

 

Merchandise - The Backstop Store is located behind home plate on the main concourse.  Pick up all your Iowa Cubs attire here!

 

Mug Club - For just $35 receive special benefits including five tickets to any 2007 Iowa Cubs game.  Click here for details.

 

National Anthem - The Iowa Cubs hold tryouts for singing the National Anthem in April.  

 

Outside Food and Items - Outside food is prohibited inside the park unless it is for medical reasons. Food brought for medical reasons, please enter at Gate C at check the food at the front desk for verification.   Bags and purses are subject to search.    

 

Parking - All parking is on a first come, first served basis.  There is no guaranteed parking.  Parking passes are provided to season ticket holders with reserved grandstand or club box seats.  Parking is $6 for all other tickets.

Radio- You can listen to Deene Ehlis and Randy Wehofer broadcast the Iowa Cubs games live on the radio at KPSZ 940. 

 

Rain Delays - According to Pacific Coast League Rules, the home team is the sole judge of the conditions of the playing field, prior to the start of the game.  The umpire-in-chief shall be the sole judge as to whether and when play shall be suspended during a game once he has taken the field. 

 

Rain Outs - If you have a ticket to a game that has been rained out, you may redeem your ticket for equal value at another game during the regular season.

 

Restrooms - Restrooms are located on the main concourse, on the mezzanine level, and in the Skybox suites. A family restroom is located behind home plate.

 

Schedules - The Iowa Cubs Schedule is online here.  Pocket schedules are available at the front desk and at the information booth.

 

Scoreboard - Pick up an entry form at your local Sportclips for a chance to run Iowa Cubs' scoreboard during a game.

Smoking- Smoking is not allowed in Principal Park.   Smokers must exit the stadium with their ticket if they wish to re-enter.

 

Strollers - Strollers are allowed inside Principal Park.

Tickets- Home Plate Club seats are $25 for adults and children. Club Box seats are $12 each. Field Box seats are $10 each. Reserved Grandstand seats are $10 for adults and $6 for children 13-under, seniors (55+) and military veterans. General Admission seats are $7 for adults and $4 for children 13-under. (Note: Groups of 25 or more are eligible for reduced ticket rates.)  Order tickets online.

 

Tours - Tours of Principal Park are available on non-game days and are free to anyone interested.  Contact Kenny Houser for a tour.   

 

Tryouts- The players are signed by our major league affiliate, the Chicago Cubs and then assigned to one of the minor league teams. 

 

Will Call - Pick up tickets at Window 4, closest to Gate B.  If you ordered tickets by phone or online, you may pick them up at any ticket window.
