LaHair is batting .361 with 21 homers and 60 RBI in 74 games this season. He is tied for the league leader in homers while ranking fifth in batting. He also leads the league in total bases (181) and intentional walks (6) while ranking third in hits (96), slugging (.680), and extra-base hits (43). This is LaHair's second PCL All-Star selection. He also made the team in 2009 while playing for Tacoma. LaHair was also selected as a Texas League All-Star with San Antonio in 2006.
Gaub is 3-1 with a 3.15 ERA and four saves in 30 games this season. He has struck out 53 batters in 34.1 innings and leads all PCL relievers with a 13.89 strikeouts per nine innings ratio. Opponents are hitting .189 against him for the year, also best among PCL relievers. This is Gaub's first all-star selection in his fifth season of professional baseball.
Castillo is batting .313 with 11 home runs and 27 RBI in 36 games with Iowa this year. He also had a stint in Chicago from May 11-29 while Geovany Soto was on the disabled list. When he returned to Iowa, Castillo started a career-high 15-game hitting streak from May 30-June 18. He was named the PCL's Player of the Week for June 13-19. This is Castillo's second career all-star appearances. He was selected to the Florida State League All-Star Team in 2008 while playing for Daytona and was also selected to the All-Star Futures Game that season.
The Triple-A All-Star Game will be telecast live on the MLB Network with the first pitch slated for 7:05 Mountain Time.
