Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program

In an effort to help defray the rising costs of higher education, the Durham Bulls and Couch Oil Company are proud to announce the results of the seventh annual Couch Oil Cares Scholarship program.

In an effort to help defray the rising costs of higher education, the Durham Bulls and Couch Oil Company are proud to announce the results of the seventh annual Couch Oil Cares Scholarship program.

During a presentation at the DBAP on August 6, six $1,000 scholarships were awarded to deserving high school seniors. This year’s recipients are

Omari Hennix-Vail – Cummings High School – UNC-Pembroke**
Nathaniel Tolk-Tomberlin** – Apex High School – North Carolina State University**
Eiha Patnaik** – Middle Creek High School – Dartmouth College**
Evan Powell** – Eastern Alamance High School – UNC-Pembroke**
Obeize Udemadu** – Josephine D. Clement Early High School – NC A&T State University**
Saleana Zheng** – Jordan High School – UNC-Chapel Hill

“Couch Oil Company is pleased to be a sponsoring partner with the Durham Bulls this season,” said Steve Couch, President of Couch Oil Company. “To make this endeavor complete, we offer the Couch Oil Cares Scholarship to benefit families in our community.”

The Bulls share in Couch Oil Company’s vision to aid deserving high school students with aspirations of attending college.

"Our flagship community programs focus on improving the lives of children in our community,” said Durham Bulls Vice Present of Baseball Operations Mike Birling. “We are thrilled to partner with Couch Oil on this endeavor to give students an opportunity to reach for higher education.”
