Niko Hulsizer

Selected in the 18th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of Morehead State University... traded by the Dodgers to the Tampa Bay Rays for reliever Adam Kolarek on July 31, 2019... prior to Morehead State, he attended Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington, PA... was a 2019 Midwest League All-Star with Great Lakes and a 2022 Southern League postseason All-Star with Biloxi.

Finished tied for 5th among all Rays Minor Leaguers with 19 home runs in 2022... ranked No. 7 among all Rays batters in 2021 with 21 homers in 97 games for Bowling Green and Montgomery... his 76 RBIs in 2021 ranked fourth among Tampa Bay Minor Leaguers... hit 21 homers in 2019, 20 of which came before his trade to the Rays, which ranked him No. 10 among Dodgers prospects that season.

Spent three seasons (2016-18) at Morehead State where he finished his college career batting .342 with 44 homers, 145 RBIs, 41 doubles and 146 runs scored in 139 games... his best season came in 2017, when he led the nation with 27 homers while hitting .349 with 82 RBIs in 59 games... his breakout 2017 campaign earned him a variety of honors and awards: he was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Year, a First-Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association, Perfect Game/Rawlings and College Sports Madness; he was named Second-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings, First-Team All-South Region by ABCA/Rawlings and First-Team All-OVC... named the Golden Spikes Award Gold Standard Performer of the Week on April 3, 2017... earned OVC Player of the Week once and finished the regular season as the nation's leader in home runs (27), RBI (82) and total bases (193)... his 2018 season was highlighted by an April 13 game in which he hit for the cycle, in reverse order, at SIUE, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs and four runs scored... was named MVP of the OVC Tournament in 2018 and named Second-Team All-OVC.

At Gov. Mifflin, he hit .480 with 21 RBIs as a sophomore and hit .465 as a junior with three home runs and 19 RBIs... Perfect Game rated him as the No. 33 player in his state and the eighth-best outfielder in Pennsylvania... was named First-Team All-County as well as First-Team Quad A All-State in 2013 and 2014... spent time with USA Elite... selected to play for the New York Yankees and New York Mets' Scout Team where he clubbed a home run at Yankee Stadium... Hulsizer's father, Al Hulsizer, was a professional bowler who claimed two national titles, five state titles and tossed 44 perfect games.
